Interventional Paediatric Cardiology
Interventional pediatric medical specialty principally involves dilatation of stenosed vessels or valves and occlusion of abnormal communications. Several transcatheter techniques—such as balloon dilatation, tube implantation, and coil occlusion—have been tailored from adult follow. Interventional procedures follow a typical technique. General anaesthesia or sedation is needed, and most procedures begin with transcutaneous limb access, whereas stents and occlusion devices square measure protected or strained inside long plastic sheaths.
